CLEANR Pod
Your first line of defense against microplastic pollution.
CLEANR® Pod • Refill Cartridge
CLEANR Pod (Refill)
Meet the CLEANR Pod, the refill cartridge that keeps your CLEANR working at its best. Every wash sheds millions of microplastic fibers. Without filtration, they head toward your septic tank, well, or local waterways. The CLEANR Pod captures those fibers before they leave your washer, helping protect your home’s water and the environment.
Easy replacement
Replace every 5 loads—no tools, no mess.
90%+ Capture Rate
Certified to remove microplastics before they leave your washer.
App Notifications
Get change alerts in the CLEANR app (and check the Pod window).

Why the Pod?
Mess-Free Filtering
The CLEANR Pod lets you capture microplastics without ever touching them. Swap a full Pod for a fresh one in under 30 seconds. No mess, no tools, and no contact with the captured gunk.
50 Micron Capture Size
Engineered Pod material captures all particles ≥ 50 µm, much smaller than a human hair, intercepting the tiny offenders before they leave your washer and enter drains, septic systems, or waterways.
Safe, Contained Disposal
In the water, microplastics can break down even smaller and continue to spread. The CLEANR Pod is designed to contain the plastics and prevent them from escaping into the water where they can break down smaller and spread. See more below.
Safe, Contained Disposal
Where does it go?
When a Pod is full, place it in your household trash. From there, it goes to a landfill where it is kept sealed and contained rather than spreading throughout the water. If the microplastics enter the water instead, they can spread throughout our environment, food, and bodies.

Why is this a good first step?
Preventing fibers from entering our waterways is the most urgent priority. In contrast to water systems, modern landfills are engineered to keep materials contained with multiple protective layers of sand, clay, and membranes that provide natural barriers, synthetic liners, and leachate collection so the microplastics remain trapped instead of spreading.

What’s next?
We are partnered with TerraCycle to develop additional end-of-life options for what the Pod captures. We will invite customers to participate as they launch in the near future. In the meantime, feel free to save your Pods until the programs are launched, or ship them back to us and we will store them for you.

How to Change the Pod?
It really is that easy!
Effortlessly change the CLEANR Pod approximately once a week in less than 30 seconds. With ease, you can ensure that the captured microplastics are properly disposed of in the trash rather than polluting our water systems.
Receive app notifications when it is time to change the Pod, so you don’t have to think about it! You can also set up a Pod subscription and order within the app for convenience!
You can also track how many microplastics you’ve captured and the impact you’ve made through the app!
FAQs
-
The CLEANR Pod is our microplastics capture unit made out of a non-woven bag to ensure that the microplastics are contained and properly disposed of. Our goal is to make sure that the microplastics stay captured and out of the world! The CLEANR Pod is our guarantee to capture and properly maintain the microplastics to enter the managed waste system instead of out into our waterways and land.
-
Every ~5 loads of laundry you will need to change your CLEANR Pod. The filter LED screen and CLEANR Smart App will let you know when it is time to change. Simply remove the CLEANR Pod from your canister and place in your trash bin, which ensures that the microplastics do not enter our waterways and land once they are in the managed waste system. Then, place a new CLEANR Pod in the canister to start filtering again. The whole process takes less than 30 seconds!
-
Your CLEANR comes with a pack of 10 CLEANR Pods, which will last you for 50 total wash cycles. Each Pod lasts for about 5 wash cycles. You can purchase additional CLEANR Pods from the CLEANR website or CLEANR Smart App in packs of 20 for $29.99.

The CLEANR Pod is our capture unit that contains the microplastics you have captured! You will often see the CLEANR Pod change colors based on what you have washed. The captured microplastics coat the surface of the filter, but once you look at your Pod under a microscope you will be shocked at what you have caught! You can see microscopic images of CLEANR Pods in our videos and on the Microplastics website page. Reach out if you would like to see what your CLEANR Pod looks like under a microscope!

The CLEANR VORTX is our patented, biomimicry inspired filtration technology that powers your CLEANR. The VORTX is inspired from how manta rays and basking sharks filter feed and generates vortices to separate the microplastics in your laundry wastewater and push them into the CLEANR Pod to ensure a CLEANR world! Inspired by nature, for nature.
