CLEANR’s patent-pending technology promotes effortless sustainability.
The CLEANR VORTX
>90%
VORTX technology separates more than 90% of foreign particulates.
>300%
Over 300% more efficient than traditional sleeve and cross flow filtration.
Use Cases
CLEANR VORTX technology can be applied to many different use cases including washing machines, dryers, home water filtration, printer ink filtration, and more.
Biomimicry Inspired
CLEANR’s patent-pending VORTX technology represents a breakthrough in particle separation. Inspired by fish gill filtration, CLEANR’s VORTX effectively separates more than 90% of particulates from fluid streams. Instead of attracting particles to the filter surface, VORTX suspends and separates them using fluid patterns that form a continuous vortex.
The vortices created by the geometry of the VORTX derive self-cleaning capabilities that elongate the time between maintenance cycles. This allows the filter to last 300% longer than conventional forms of filtration.
HOW IT WORKS
CLEANR’s VORTX forms continuous vortices that optimize filtration efficiency and longevity. As waste-water flows through the spiral, a stream of separated foreign particulates concentrates at the center of the VORTX to then be pushed to the end for easy collection and disposal.

Fluid models show continuous vortices forming in the VORTX geometry, starting from the entrance traveling to the end.
Fluid analysis further shows 90% of the clean wastewater exits out of the periphery of the Spiral while the microplastics are concentrated into just 10% of the water at the collection point.
CLEANR’s VORTX technology can be scaled to fulfill filtration applications across multiple industries.
CLEANR’s Premium Microplastic Filter for Washing Machines
The first application CLEANR has applied the VORTX technology to is washing machine microplastic filtration. Washing machines are the largest source of microplastic pollution, accounting for 35% of the total pollution. Thus, CLEANR applied VORTX technology to create a filter to stop over 90% of microplastic particles down to 50 microns from leaving the washing machine and entering our environment.
